Never ask that question again with the Freak. Instead, ask which insert you should use. Paintball sizes vary, so we made a system that adapted to the paintball, not the other way around. One barrel, eight bore sizes.
Buy a tiny ball: we have a .679 insert.
Medium ball: be happy with the .689.
Buy big or just leave paint in the sun all day: we have .695.
Freak inserts are subjected to the same rigorous honing and hardcoat anodizing as all Smart Parts barrels. They are held to strict tolerances to make sure your .684 is just that, not smaller or larger. That goes for stainless steel inserts, too.
Stainless steel inserts are stronger and honed to a slightly smoother finish, giving you one more option in the Freak line.
With nine insert sizes, .679, .682, .684, .687, .689, .691, .693 and .695, you’ll always have the right option for any paint. Color may vary. Individual inserts will not come in the black cases.
The Freak XL Tip "Freak Style" offers high quality in combination with timeless design and variety of color and size.
You can choose this Freak XL barrel Tip when buying a Total Freak XL kit, or as upgrade to your existing Freak XL Back.

The wait if finally over: Here it is, the complete Freak XL Carbon Barrel, which uses the brand new Freak XL 8" Inserts. No additional back is needed. This lightweight under the barrels weighs in at astonishing 72g. This is less than half of a standard Freak (152g).
The Freak XL Carbon Barrel comes with an XL 8" Insert (.689) included.
The front section has holes in the form of a double helix, which will rotate the paintball and stabilize its trajectory.
